Graveside services for Violet Christine “Tene” Hatten Gaskin will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home ~ West Monroe. Tommy Lindsey will officiate.
Momma was born on September 7, 1928 in Chatham, Louisiana and passed away on September 6, 2020 in West Monroe, Louisiana four hours before her 92nd birthday. So her first day in Heaven is truly a celebration. Momma was a devoted wife and Mother who spent her entire adult life serving her family. Everything she did was for her family and was done with loving tenderness. Momma never let her family go a day without anything they needed. Momma, now safely inside Heaven’s gates, is reunited with our Papa, her husband and the love of her life, George A. Gaskin. She is also preceded in death by her 12 siblings; her mother, Ella Fordham Hatten, that she has missed for 57 years; father, George Hatten; grandson, Benny Taylor. We are at peace knowing she is with Jesus and her loved ones. Momma is survived by her children, Teresa Wilson of Weston, Texas, Jan Shrader and husband Julius of Winnsboro, Louisiana, George Gaskin and wife Patti of Chatham, Louisiana, Nikki Flowers of West Monroe, Louisiana; grandchildren, Ronnie Hamilton and wife Chris, Stacey Brown and husband Ray, Johnny Taylor and wife Ginger, Cammy Posey and husband Brad, Jordyn Zigler and husband Brennen, Cade Flowers, Betsy Flowers, Drew Townsend, Kyle Townsend and wife Brittany; great-grandchildren, Faith Taylor, Coen Taylor, Londyn Taylor, Addie Kate Zigler, Jaxon Zigler, Jack Frith, Will Frith, Lila Cowen, Mary Jane Posey, Liam Posey, Tanner Townsend; step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family and friends. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hamilton, George Gaskin, Cade Flowers, Johnny Taylor, Brennen Zigler, and Wayne May. The family extends a special thank you to Momma’s best friends, Ruth Chatham and Janice Mullican for a lifetime of friendship, and we appreciate her caregivers, Elizabeth Spann, Lamecia Duncan and Amy Dale.
