Our mother, Charlotte, went to her eternal home to be reunited with her beloved husband, and went to her Savior she followed so faithfully. Being a wife and mom was her calling and she was equally committed to both. The only thing that brought her nearly as much joy, was when her grandchildren came along. She was happiest with a sumptuous meal on her table, her husband by her side, and a baby in her lap. Mama prayed for her loved ones and rejoiced when God answered those prayers. Her heart nearly broke when they lost their daughter, and at the losses of our three family granddaughters. I have no doubt she is rejoicing at being with all her family again, but has no greater joy than being in the presence of her Heavenly Father, whom she loved and served since childhood.
Charlotte was born on June 11, 1939 in West Monroe, Louisiana and passed away on September 2, 2024 in Monroe, Louisiana. Charlotte was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Brother R.C. Smith, who passed away earlier this year; daughter, Cindy McPhearson; granddaughters, Katy Smith, Charlotte Drumwright; great-granddaughter, Lexsi Allen; parents, Eva Bishop and Millard Harris; and in-laws, Corene and Robert Smith.
Charlotte is survived by her daughters, Melinda Smith Hardey of Mesa, Arizona, and Sharon Drumwright of Shoreline, Washington; son, Robert Charles Smith, III and wife Jenny (Roan) of Homer, Louisiana; grandchildren, Rachel, Abigail, Molly, Kyle, Leslie, Charlotte Joy, Mitchell, James, Andy, Michael, Joshua, Jana and Emily; 20 beloved great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Harris Wilson (David); brother, Henry Harris and wife Lauren of San Juan Batista, CA; numerous nieces and nephews; along with many other cherished family and friends.
