Charles Phillip James II (Charlie) of Monroe went home on Sunday, March 05, 2017. He is survived by his sisters Janice James and Terri James Hayward, brother-in-law Dr. Michael Hayward, nieces Dr. Christiana Hayward and Annelies Hayward, nephews Thurner Hayward and Thomas Hayward. He is also survived by his best friend, Scott Allen of Monroe.He is preceded in death by his parents Charles Phillip James and Joyce Lee Crooks James.He always liked working with his hands and worked on electric motors. He was employed by Natchez Electrical Company until a severe auto accident.Charlie loved the smell of fresh coffee, watching the sun rise for the new day, and planning his adventures in the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed sitting around the camp fire joking to his buddies and telling tall tales. He was a die heart LSU, New Orleans Saints and Ouachita Parish High School football fan. Because he loved his nieces and nephews, he even became a Neville Tigers fan except one Friday night each fall.Charlie believed in standing up for God, Family, and the Flag. He loved the United States of America.Services are 10:00 a.m. at Kilpatrick Funeral Homes in Monroe on Tuesday, March 07, 2017. Burial will be in Sylvarena, Mississippi at the family cemetery, Bethany Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to St. Jude Children Hospital. The family wants to thank Louisiana Hospice for their care of their beloved brother and uncle battle with cancer.
