I knew the Rev. Davis as Mr. Davis in 1964 at Springhill Jr. High where he taught 8th grade history, Louisiana history. I still have the utmost respect and admiration for him as a teacher. I think he was one of the first people to inspire me to consider history as my college major. Most sincere condolences to the good Reverend's family.
