Lee Evelyn and Charlotte, you won’t remember me, but your parents, my late husband Scott (Scotty) Cain and I were close friends, when we all lived in Oakdale. I have just learned of your Father’s passing, which leaves me with a heavy heart, as I have so many wonderful memories that I hold near and dear in my heart of those days. I will never forget the basset eating the stakes your Dad was cooking one night or your Dad asking me how I expected him to take a bite of a large hamburger I had prepared for everyone!!! You and your family have my prayers and love always.Sincerely, Doris Hill Cain

Lee Evelyn and Charlotte, I am just reading your Dad’s obituary, which leaves me with a heavy heart. Your parents were close friends with my late husband Scott (Scotty) Cain and I, when we all lived in Oakdale. Lee Evelyn, you and my son played together as little children. Charlotte, you were born a few days before my youngest daughter, your Mother and I used the same doctor, so she ask him to tell me she had you!!! Oh, I have so many fond and funny memories of time spent together, which I cherish dearly. You and your family have my prayers and love always.Sincerely, Doris Hill Cain

My hearth felt sympathies to all the family. As a 4-H member at Kelly High School, I recall the fond memories of attending National 4-H Club congress in 1956 with both Charles and Richard.

I have many pleasant memories of Charles as a classmate. I also loved his mother as a favorite teacher. I will sadly miss both of them. Richard andCharlotte, I am praying for both of you and your entire families. Vera (Allbritton) Grant I took the position in the English classroom immediately after she left, and many times I could feel her presence in the classroom. Charles and Icompeted for grades in all classes..Typing and Shorthand were the onlysubjects I could get the edge on him.
