Funeral services for Charles Thomas Bumgardner will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Fair Park Baptist Church with Bro. Waymond Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 17, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Charles was born on November 18, 1946 and passed away after a lengthy illness on August 14, 2021. He is preceded in death by his mother, Nerine Bumgardner; father, P.J. Bumgardner; sister, Rita Spillers; and brother, Curtis Bumgardner.
Charles is survived by his son, Michael Bumgardner and wife, Brandie; daughter, Monica Turner and husband, Brian; grandchildren, Erin Etheridge and husband Caleb, Timothy Bumgardner, Madison Turner, and Jacob Turner; brother, William “Sonny” Bumgardner and wife Blondell; and several nieces and nephews.
Charles was a retired security officer at Brookshire’s Warehouse and served in the United States Navy. He was a member of Fair Park Baptist Church and the Twin City Chevy Classic Car Club where he was able to enjoy his passion for classic and antique cars. Charles also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching LSU and New Orleans Saints football. Above all he loved the good Lord and spending time with his family.
