Funeral services for Charlene Z. Amorello, 78, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at St. Paschal Catholic Church, West Monroe. Father Michael Thang’wa will officiate. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes, West Monroe. A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Monday, March 31, 2025 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Charlene was born on February 16, 1947 in Worcester, Massachusetts and passed away on March 26, 2025 in West Monroe surrounded by her loving family. Charlene received her Master’s in Education from NSU and started her teacher career. She taught for 29 years in Winn Parish at Calvin, Dodson and Winnfield, her last 4 years of teaching were in the East Baton Rouge Parish school system, where she retired in 2004. After retirement, Charlene worked at Ouachita Optical for Dr. Yeager, where she met many wonderful friends. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Charlene was part of many organizations such as Sweet Adelines, Bayou Breeze Quartet, NSU Alumni Association and LOPA where she was a dedicated volunteer. She was a devoted Grammie to her precious grandchildren, who she loved with all her heart. Those who knew her loved her deeply for the character she was. Her fun loving spirit allowed her to never meet a stranger. Charlene is preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Fox; and parents, Dante and Ann Zamarro.
Charlene is survived by her sons, Dante Fox and wife Alisha and Ben Fox and wife Misty; grandchildren, Chandler and fiance Jenna, Hunter, Colton, Kennedy, Cooper, Brody, Sarah and Isabella; brother, Dante Zamarro from Worchester, MA; sister-in-law, Pat Zamarro; nephews, Steven Zamarro, Anthony Zamarro; niece, Mia McDonald; numerous cousins; and special friends, Lyman and Naomi Hall and Kenneth and Joy Jordan; and her cat, Tumballina Grace.
Serving as pallbearers will be B.W. Stewart, Ryan Accardo, Daniel Harrell, Heath Heisler, Charles May and Mike Manley.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.
