Charlene Looper, 90, of Ruston, LA (formerly of Oregon), passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Pines Memorial under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Close family friends are welcome to attend. Rev. Dale Oden will officiate.Charlene was very active in the Tops Club where she was recognized with many awards, even on the national level. She was a wonderful grandmother, an awesome cook, and very talented in her musical abilities.Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Linda Evans of Ruston, LA, Glenn Looper (Sharon) of Oregon, and Pynne Looper of CA; grandchildren: Brad Evans, Brian Evans, Kara Looper, LaDonna Looper, and Kaylee Looper; numerous great grandchildren; sister, Geraldean Brown of CA; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.Online condolences may be made to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com.

Charlene was a regular smiling face at each Wednesday evening church service I led. Over the years I grew to appreciate her love of music and her Lord, Jesus Christ, as we sang hymns and discussed the Bible. Her faithful attendance and attentiveness was an encouragement to me over the years I knew her. I know my sense of loss is small compared to her family, but I rest confidently that she now sees her Jesus face-to-face and waits to be reunited with those who share her love of Christ as Savior.
