A celebration of life for Cathleen Glass Mickail will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home ~ West Monroe.
Cathleen was born on September 24, 1952 in Hollywood, California and passed away on December 27, 2020 in West Monroe after a battle with ALS. She was retired from the Ouachita Parish School Board as a counselor at Riser Elementary. Cathleen’s favorite pastime was reading and spoiling her grandchildren.
Cathleen is survived by her husband, Dr. Mamdouh G. Mickail; sons, Rory Christian McClaskey and wife Layla Salles of Brazil, Matthew Davy of Utah, Joel Mark Mickail of Houston, TX, Christopher John Mickail of Shreveport, LA, Terry Matthew Mickail of Seattle, WA; daughter, Marie Mickail Darby of Hattiesburg, MS; grandchildren, Christian McClaskey and Edward McClaskey of Rio de Jeneiro, Brazil, Kai Davy of Utah, Ava and Mia Darby of Hattiesburg, MS, Caroline and Isabelle Mickail of Shreveport, LA, Jasmine and Daniel Mickail of Houston, TX; sisters, Katie Ashbrenner of San Diego, CA, Peggy Bruce of San Diego, CA, Marianne Doherty of San Diego, CA, Therese Hartmann of Porter Ranch, CA; brothers, Charles Glass of Provence, France, Patrick Doherty of Santa Clarita, CA, Michael Doherty of Reno, NV; nieces, nephews and other cherished family and friends.

I have never known a person who had the characteristics Cathleen possessed: Wit, tenacity, and emthathy. Although we had not been in touch since 1988, there was a rare time I did not think of her. I can see she found the right person to spend the rest of her life. Seeing pictures demonsterating her pride with Rory and his family is priceless. I am so sorry for your lost as she is irreplaceable. As you will have, I have vivid and wonderful memories of our friendship, hardships, and laughter starting at 14 years old. I just found this notice of her passing and feel deeply saddened that she was robbed of more years for the life she worked hard to have.
