Carole Susan Vinson, of Monroe, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025 at the age of 83. She was born to Frederick Gilley and Betty Scott on April 11, 1941 in Eden, North Carolina.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick Gilley and Betty Scott; her sister, Betty Lou Burnett.
She is survived by her daughter, Heather Willis (Richard); grandchild, Hannah Johnson (Colby); great-grandchildren, Jett and Rush Johnson; nephews, Toby, Cliff and Monty Burnett.
Losing her father in her teens, Susan learned to lean on the Lord at a young age, which remained true throughout her adult life. Her determination and resilience ultimately led her to work her way up to the title of president of a prestigious organization. She enjoyed traveling all over the world with her profession and represented the strength of women and her company to the fullest. After decades of hard work, Susan retired in her dream home in Monroe, LA. She enjoyed spending time gardening in her beautiful courtyard, spending time with her loved ones and friends, afternoon rides to get ice cream cones and going every week to Rain Salon to get her hair done. However, her favorite pastime of all was spending time with her 2 great-grandchildren, Jett and Rush, whom she adored with her whole heart. A true cornerstone of our family, “SuSu” will be greatly missed and will forever live in our hearts and memories.
The family would like to give special thanks to Angela Doerr and Dylan Pardue.
Arrangements are being made by Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Monroe, Louisiana. A graveside service officiated by Pastor Jonathan Wagner will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Calhoun, Louisiana, on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 2 p.m.
