Funeral services for Carmele Doane Modisette, 79, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, with Rev. Calton Yeager and Henry Chriceol officiating. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe. Ms. Modisette was born on December 20, 1932 in Dry Prong, LA and passed peacefully on March 10, 2012 in West Monroe following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Eddie Modisette; a son, David H. Doane Jr.; her father, William Doner Johnson; mother, Elizabeth Arender Johnson; brother, Leonard Johnson; and sister, Ruby Hudgins. Ms. Modisette is survived by her daughter, Sharon Hepner of Victorville, CA; two sons, Richard Doane and wife Pat of West Monroe and Michael Doane and wife Mirjam of Corpus Christi, TX; a brother, Huey Johnson and wife Fannie; sister Clydell Nelson; sister Jeanie Jones and husband Eugene; seven grandchildren; and her former husband, David Doane of Greenback, TN. Of greatest comfort and joy for Ms. Modisette was her firm faith. She was a member of Ridge Avenue Baptist Church of West Monroe and had at one time served as Secretary for the Chaplain of Glenwood Hospital. In her later years, Ms. Modisette enjoyed travel, card games, and visits with old friends. She deeply cherished her large family, including numerous nieces and nephews who were especially caring of her in her last days. Visitation will be held from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Monday, March 12 and 9:00AM to 11:00AM on Tuesday, March 13. Memorial gifts may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, P.O.
