Funeral services for Carlton Traweek, 65 of West Monroe will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 18, 2012 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Rev. William Edwards will be officiating. Interment will follow at Lone Cherry Cemetery, Mangham, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Mr. Traweek was born June 4, 1946 in Monroe, LA and passed away May 15, 2012 in Shreveport, LA. He was retired Sergeant from the West Monroe Police Department with over 19 years of service. Mr. Traweek was a member of Riverview Baptist Church. He was an avid racecar builder, owner and racer and if it was broken he fixed it. Mr. Traweek was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Lonez Traweek, brothers, Jimmy and Bobby Traweek, sister, Audrey Harris. Mr. Traweek is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dorothy Traweek; son, Carlton Traweek II and wife Wendy and son, Mike Smalling; daughter, Karla Sikes and fiancé Mark Goza; grandsons, Tommy, Trey and Taylor Traweek; granddaughters, Allison and Scotland Traweek, Jessica and Terry Hancock, and Betsy Young, one great grandson, Cason Hancock; brothers, James and Barbara Traweek and Wayne Traweek; numerous nieces and nephews and his favorite pet Tiger. Pallbearers will be Jerry Stansbury, Bobby Avery, Calvin Woodall, Chris Sasser, Larry Norris and Brent Chapell. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Register, Steve Slocum, Chief Johnny Mitchell, Billy Bagwell and Matt Boyd, Ralph Seay and all active and retired police officers. Special thanks to Bobby Avery, Jerry Stansbury, Calvin Woodall, Willie Buffington the doctors and nurses at LSU in Shreveport and friends and family. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
