Funeral services for Carl “C.R.” Phelps, 86, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe, Louisiana.  Rev. Gene Kepper will officiate.  Interment will follow at Bosco Baptist Church Cemetery in Bosco, Louisiana, under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes, West Monroe.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., Friday, September 6, 2024, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe.

Carl was born on May 25, 1938, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and passed away on September 3, 2024, in West Monroe, Louisiana.    Carl owned and operated C/R Phelps Construction.  He was a hard working family man.  In his earlier years, Carl enjoyed riding horses and later in life, he loved to ride motorcycles.  Carl had a passion for restoring antique cars and showing them at car shows.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, June T. Phelps; and son, Douglas Phelps.

Carl is survived by his wife, Margaret Wall; children, Carl Phelps Jr., Debby Johnson and her husband Chuck, and Deanna Knighten; brother, Gene Kepper; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren; along with other cherished family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Moore, James Anzelmo, Joseph Knighten, Eric Shaw and Joseph Knighten Jr.
