Funeral services for Burkett Theo Shorty May will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, July 30, 2018 at Asbury United Methodist Church with Reverend Johnny Hankins and Reverend Ted Freeland officiating. Interment will follow at Hebron Cemetery near Sikes, LA.Mr. May was born on March 14, 1931 and passed away on July 26, 2018 at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Lottie Maxine Thigpen May; parents, Harvey Burkett May and Winnie Mae Hearn May; sisters, Opal Kelly, and Lorene Patrick; brothers, Harlan May, Winston May, Kenneth May, Freeland May and Billy Ray May.He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Sims and husband, Perk of Calhoun, LA, Lisa Tolbird and husband, Larry of West Monroe, Amy May of Shreveport, LA, and Jan Ellen Ritter and husband, Randy of Sugar Land, TX; grandchildren, Daniel Morrow and wife, DeAnna, Brandon Morrow, Blake Tolbird, Todd Tolbird, Caroline Ritter, and Connor Ritter; and 3 great grand children, Malory Morrow, Noah Morrow, and Mayson Morrow. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.Daddy was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He retired from Graphic packaging after 30 plus years. He loved to garden, fish, hunt and spend time with his family.
