Funeral services for Bonnie Lofton, 87, of West Monroe, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 7, 2022 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe. Bobby Avery, Rev. Ed Jordan and Dr. Bill Riddle will officiate. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at the funeral home.
Bonnie was born on March 27, 1935 in Natchitoches, Louisiana and passed away on September 3, 2022 in West Monroe, Louisiana. She was a devoted Christian woman who was a former member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and current member of West Heights Missionary Baptist Church. Bonnie loved serving the Lord and doing for others. She was an honorary member of the Louisiana Sheriff’s Program, and helped with the West Monroe retired police Reunion for 10 years. She also volunteered with the Super 1 outreach program to benefit local veterans. She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Harold B. Lofton; her parents, David and Corine Garza Leo; and three sisters.
Bonnie is survived by her children, Renee Coleman and husband Shelby, Owen Butler and Robert Butler; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters; two brothers; many other cherished family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jay Russell, Mike Moore, Bill Riddle, Tim Hurt, Kevin Mitchell, and Bobby Avery. Honorary pallbearers will be Dillon Malone and Bobby Duke.
