Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Wayne Fletcher, 78, of Sterlington, LA, husband of Carol Anne Fletcher and father of Casey Booth Fletcher, will be Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Farmerville Church of Christ at 2:00 PM with Brother Ben Walker and Brother Larry White officiating. Jim Rhodes will direct the music. Burial will follow in the Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Downsville, LA, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville.
Bobby was born February 2, 1944 and passed away March 19, 2022. Bobby graduated from Farmerville High School in 1962 and attended Louisiana Tech University and Northeast Louisiana University before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1966. Bobby proudly served our country in the Vietnam War as a helicopter mechanic, crew chief and door gunner in active war zones. He was discharged in July 1969 with the rank of sergeant. Bobby retired in 2001 from Angus Chemical in Sterlington as a maintenance supervisor. Bobby was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ, and was actively involved in Wards Chapel Church of Christ, Farmerville Church of Christ, and attended Sterlington Church of Christ.
Bobby is preceded in death by his grandparents, Zack and Clara Miller Booth, and Robert and Alberta Fletcher; and parents, James K. and Arvee Booth Fletcher.
Bobby is survived by Carol, his loving wife of 39 years; daughter Casey; sister, Jimmye Futch; nephews Alan Futch, Todd Futch and his wife Jamie, and Lance Futch; great niece Nicole Futch Murphy and her husband John; and great nephew T.J. Futch and his wife Olivia and their daughter Chloe; and numerous cousins.
Bobby will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank the Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home and staff for the great care they provided Bobby.
Serving as pallbearers are nephews, Alan Futch, Todd Futch, Lance Futch, T.J. Futch, John Murphy, and cousins, Joe Booth, Phillip Booth, and Ben Booth.
Honorary pallbearers are first cousins Charles Booth, Larry Booth, Gary Booth, Kurt Booth, Scotty Booth, James “Bud” Loftin, William Ed Fletcher, and Danny Fuller.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel, Farmerville.
