Mr. Bobby C. Brister Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA Funeral services for Mr. Bobby C. Brister, age 80, of Choudrant, LA will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Choudrant, LA. Officating the service will be Rev. David Harrell and Rev. Barry Brister. Interment will follow at Longstraw Cemetery in Choudrant, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA. Bobby was born November 28, 1932 and went to be with his Heavenly Father surrounded by his family on November 13, 2013 following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by by his parents: Homer and Yancie Brister; sister: Vetolie Gates; brothers: Louis Brister, Arshal Brister, Homer Dean Brister, and Pete Brister. He is survived by his wife; Laurene Brister of Choudrant, LA; sons: Randy Brister and wife Debbie of Ruston, LA, Larry Brister of Choudrant and Steve Brister and wife Jennifer of Choudrant, LA; brother: Stanley Brister and wife Evelyn of West Monroe, LA; sisters: Virginia Hoover of West Monroe and Andra Pesnell and husband Harold of Choudrant; grandchildren: Jacob Brister and wife Kara, Lee Brister and wife Emily, T.J. Brister and wife Jamie, Clay Brister, Colby Brister, and Nathan Colvin and wife Wendy; and seven great grandchildren. He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Choudrant and served in the United States Army from 1953-1955.He retired from Highlines Construction with over 30 years of service, and was an avid outdoorsman and a lifelong supporter of the Choudrant High School Athletic program. One of his greatest joys was being surrounded by his family. Pallbearers for Mr. Bobby Brister will be: Jacob Brister, Lee Brister, TJ Brister, Clay Brister, Colby Brister, Nathan Colvin, Terry Brister and David “Bo” Pesnell. Visitation will be Friday, November 15, 2013 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston from 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Choudrant, New Sanctuary Fund.
