Funeral services for Blanche Odom Rabun-Dillon, 86, of Monroe will be held 10 A.M. Monday December 11, 2006 in the Chapel of Kilpatrick F.H. in Farmerville, LA., with Rev. David Martin officiating. A private burial will be held at Liberty Hill-Taylor Cemetery outside Farmerville, LA. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday December 10, 2006 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville. Mrs. Dillon died Saturday, December 9, 2006, following a lengthy illness. She was a native and longtime resident of Farmerville, a member of the Farmerville United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Entro Nos Book Club, a retired employee of LA State Department of Public Safety Motor Vehicles, and a retired business owner with her late husband James A. Rabun. After moving to Monroe in 1979, She was for many years an active member of the Twin City Arts Foundation and the Monroe Art Association. She was also an early supporter and member of the Ouachita River Art Guild. Blanches love of art and painting was evident to all who knew her, and her talent recognized in prize-winning watercolors and oils exhibited locally. She was a member of St. Paul≠s United Methodist Church and later Lea Joyner United Methodist Church. Mrs. Dillon is preceded in death by her husband John Raleigh Dillon, her parents L.B. and Mattie Taylor Odom, and her brother L.B. Odom, Jr. Survivors include sons J. Michael Rabun of Farmerville, LA. and Marc O. Rabun of Lafeyette, LA. daughter, Andree Rabun Fitzgerald and son-in-law Larry V. Fitzgerald of Monroe; sister Jean Odom Wadlington of Monroe; and four grandchildren Matthew Fitzgerald of Monroe, LA and Emily Fitzgerald Goode and Husband Jack of Monroe, LA , Mary K Rabun Oglesby and Husband Larry of Austin, TX and Jim Rabun of Seattle, WA; four great-grandchildren Jade, Jordan, and Rabun Oglesby of Austin, TX; and Olivia Kate Goode of Monroe, LA, two nephews Kerry H. Emmons of Jacksonville, FL and Christopher G. Wadlington of Lafayette, LA; and special friends and caregivers Don and Beth Day of Columbia,.LA and Ethel Dickens of Monroe, LA. A special thanks to the Staff and caregivers at Avalon Place of Monroe, LA. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Quachita River Art Guild or The Methodist Childrens Home in Ruston, LA.
