Billy Jack Parnell Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA Funeral services for Billy Jack Parnell, age 73, of Ruston will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston. Officiating the service will be Rev. Ricky Bonnett. Interment will follow at Pines Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Mr. Parnell was born November 9, 1938 and passed away March 4, 2012 following a lengthy illness. He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Parnell; Son: Robert Scott Parnell; father: Doc Parnell; mother: Ruth Goodgoin; brothers: Bubba Parnell, and Morris Ray Parnell. “Billy Jack” as he was well known to family and friends was a good ole hometown boy and lifelong resident of Lincoln Parish. Billy graduated from Ruston High in 1957 and married in 1960. By trade, Billy was an auto mechanic. He was owner of Parnell's I-20 Gulf Station and later retired with Davison Transport where he worked as a driver and dispatcher. Billy was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Ruston. Billy's humor and quick witted remarks will always be remembered by those who knew him. He is survived by his daughter: Deborah Parnell Wisterman and husband Jesse; one grandson: Luke Wisterman of Choudrant; brother: Eddie Parnell of Farmerville; two nephews and one niece.
