Funeral services for Mrs. Billie K. Rachell, 66 of Downsville, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Monroe, LA with Father Joe Puthuppally officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday beginning at 10:00 AM with rosary at 11:30 AM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Billie was born on March 4, 1946 in Monroe to John Trezevant Hammond and Dorothy Miller Hammond. She passed away peacefully in Monroe, LA on June 4, 2012 after a lengthy illness. After retiring from her nursing and EMT career at E.A. Conway Hospital, Billie dedicated her life to her family and the Church. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish. She shared her creative talents through oil painting, statue restorations and crafts. She was an excellent cook and produced award winning jellies. Her dedication to Christ was shown through her humble service to others and the Church. She was a long time member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Calhoun and an ordained lay sister of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Fransiscian Missionaries. Billie was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lea Tolbert; daughter, Nanette Cappo Wise; sons, Robert Cappo, Joel Rachell and Lynn Rachell and two infant children. Billie is survived by her loving husband of thirty- one years, Leon Rachell; sister, Barbara Duprey; sons; Anthony Cappo and Timmy Cappo; daughters; Evelyn Rachell DeAngelo and husband Stephen and Dawn Rachell Wiltberger and husband Jon; eighteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Anthony Cappo, Jr., Jonathan Cappo, Tim Cappo, Sr., Tim Cappo, Jr., Stephen DeAngelo, Tommy Holmes, Noel Rachell, Jon Wiltberger, II, Jon Wiltberger, III, Daniel Wiltberger.
