Funeral services for Billie Crowder, 63 of Choudrant, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 25, 2012 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Bro. Dub Hatten will be officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Calhoun, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Billie was born June 4, 1948 in Horsching, Austria and passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 in West Monroe, LA. Billie was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War and served in the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He received a Purple Heart and several other awards for his honorable service. He retired from Conway Freight and was a member of Cheniere Drew Primitive Baptist Church. Billie enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, as well as spending time with his children and grandchildren. Billie was preceded in death by his parents; Homer and Hilda Crowder. Billie was survived by his wife; Debbie Crowder; 2 sons, DaWayne Crowder and wife Laura and Greg Crowder and wife Angela; sister, Sharon Lindsay; grandchildren; Abigail Crowder, Corbin Crowder, Grace Crowder and Meredith Crowder. Pallbearers will be Roger Huckaby, Paul Newman, Bennie Folden, Larry Freeman, Donald Duncan, and Travis Barrett. Honorary pallbearers will be Five Points Hunting Club. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Friends of Chenault Museum Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
