Bette Bayles Winn, 92, went to be with the Lord on December 2, 2024. She was born in Point, Louisiana, on February 26, 1932 to the late Timothy Jack and Myrtle Bayles.

Bette was a graduate of Downsville High School. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, friend and mother to the joy of her life, the late John Randall Harris. She happily lived a large part of her life in both Houston and Galveston, Texas, where she was a property manager. After the death of her son and upon retirement, she returned to Point to be close to family. She enjoyed working part-time at Squire Creek Country Club and later at Kiroli Park. She also returned to her childhood church, Providence Baptist Church, where she was a member. She enjoyed spending time with family and always loved getting together with her classmates from Downsville High School. She had a love of photography, especially capturing the beauty of flowers. She also loved butterflies, and we won’t be able to see one without thinking of her.

Bette was preceded in death by her only son, John Randall (Randy) Harris; her parents, Timothy Jack and Myrtle Powell Bayles; her infant brother, Teddy Bayles and brother Bobby Jack Bayles; her brother-in-law, John (Bobby) Roberson, Sr; and great nephew, Brice Bayles.

She is survived by her sisters, Patsy Roberson and Sandra Littleton (Billy); sister-in-law, Annie Ruth Bayles; and numerous nephews and nieces as well as her dear friends, Deanna Minor and Jon Burgus.

Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church, 2396 Highway 552, Downsville, LA (Point), with Bro. James Tarrance and Bro. Bruce McGee officiating. Visitation will begin that morning at 10:00 a.m. and continue until service time. Interment will follow at Rugg’s Bluff Cemetery in Point under the direction and care of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Farmerville.
