Bessie Wiltcher

Funeral services for Bessie Wiltcher, 92, of West Monroe, will be held at 3:00 P.M., Monday, October 10, 2022 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in West Monroe. Rev. Jim Arrant and Rev. Rick McPhearson will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe. Visitation will be held before the service from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the church.
Bessie was born on April 8, 1930 in Chatham and went to her heavenly home on October 7, 2022. She was a longtime member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in West Monroe along with her husband, John. They went on several church mission trips to build churches. Bessie enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, and even cutting firewood. She ran a chain saw until she was 88 years old. Bessie and John’s favorite pastime were collecting clothing and household items to share with the Native Americans in Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wiltcher.
Bessie is survived by her children, Glenda Suggs and husband Glen, Tommy Wiltcher and wife Peggy, Jimmy Wiltcher; grandchildren, Randy Suggs, Dustin Wiltcher and wife Ashley; great-grandchildren, Megan Suggs, Kaylea Suggs, Savannah Wiltcher; niece, Carolyn Brockett and husband Bill; nephew, Bruce DeVille and wife Carol; and many other cherished family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Randy Suggs, Dustin Wiltcher, Guy Owens, Bo Wilkes, Bruce Shelton and Bubba Miller.
