Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Lewis of West Monroe will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Christian Life Church. Officiating will be Rev. Chance Lewis, Rev. Steve Hillman, Rev. Tim Kelley and Pastor Danny Chance. Interment will be in Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Pallbearers include: Burl Masters, Sean Bryan, Jason Powell, Erik Redd, Keith Lewis, and Walter Hillman. Honorary pallbearers include: Ronnie Cupit, Grady Kight, Gary Masters, James Masters, Randy McManus, Archie Evans, Jeff Acreman, and Robert Guess.Bessie Lewis was born on January 10, 1937. She passed from this life on February 8, 2017 at 80 years of age in West Monroe, Louisiana. Mrs. Lewis was a beloved Mother and Nana, a fun-loving people person with a zest for life. She loved to laugh and enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. A servant, who made a mission of caring for others, she worked as a licensed practical nurse. She was employed by St. Francis Medical Center for 35 and a half years before retiring. A prayer warrior, strong woman of faith and lifelong student of the Word of God, she was a 58 year member of Christian Life Church. She lived a life worthy of emulating and left a strong legacy to follow.Bessie is survived by her daughter, Rene Masters and husband, Jesse; her son, Rev. Zale Lewis and wife, Gaye; grandchildren, Summer Powell and husband, Jason, Burl Masters and wife, Jamie, Holly Bryan and husband, Sean, and Chance Lewis and wife, Sarah; great grandchildren, Emilee Kate and Jacey Powell, Carly, Natalie and Garrett Masters, Eden and Noah Bryan, Zane, Zale and Zebb Lewis; her sister, Lois Redd; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless treasured friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, O.Z. Lewis, and her parents, Peavey and Audie Centers.The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Dr. H.
