Berta Girod was born on June 26, 1928 in the Bohemian town of Bleistadt, in the Czech Republic. She passed on December 11, 2022, in Monroe Louisiana.
Early in her life she became a kindergarten teacher, which she loved. She loved teaching young children. But, World War II brought that career to an end and she was uprooted from her Bohemian home. She had to start a new life in West Germany where she met her husband, Aubrey Girod. They married moved to Louisiana and had two children she loved dearly, Bobby and Wanda.
Throughout the rest of her life she brought a bright shining light and humor into the life of individuals that were close to her.
Her mother, Aloisia Rudert, and father, Martin Rudert; step mother, Elsa Rudert; sisters, Ingrid, Krista, Monica; brother, Edi; former husband, Aubrey Girod; and grandson, Jeffery Herlevic, preceded her in death
She is survived by her son Bobby Girod and wife Teresa; daughter Wanda Herlevic and husband John; grandchildren, Nicole Herlevic, Christopher Herlevic; great grandchild, Shelby.
