Graveside services for Bennie Ray Wilson will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, March 14, 2025 at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Rayville, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Monroe, LA.
Bennie Ray Wilson, age 75 of Farmerville, La went to be with his lord and savior at a local hospital Sunday, March 10th 2025 after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Fort Benning, Georgia on January 30, 1950 to proud parents Ray and Viviane Wilson. He was raised in a military family and lived in numerous places during his life. His family finally decided to settle in Farmerville, La. Bennie attended Farmerville High School where he graduated in 1968.
Bennie started his own military career in the United States Army as a young man and then transferred to the United States Air Force Reserves and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant in the 307th Red Horse. He was also a retired Captain from the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office. He fought in the Vietnam War and also served in Desert Storm. He did several other tours in Saudi Arabia, Cutter, and Iraq to name a few. His military career lasted a total of 33 years he retired highly decorated. He was a man of honor and distinction and was proud to protect and serve his country in which he loved. Bennie was an active life member of VFW Post 5442.
Bennie’s heart belonged to his precious daughter, Courtney. She was his world until his last breath. He was a loving and caring father and Courtney knew how lucky she was to have a daddy like him. Everything he did in life was for her and her wellbeing.
Bennie was also a very proud Pawpaw to two very special girls, Demi and Chloe Thompson. He never missed a birthday party or school event that was for one of his girls.
In his spare time he loved to make things out of wood and spend lots of time outdoors. He loved living on Lake D’Arbonne where he loved to fish and hang out with his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray L Wilson, MSG (Ret) and Vivian L. Wilson.
Survivors include daughter Courtney and husband Denver; two precious granddaughters, Demi Elizabeth Thompson and Chloe Brooks Thompson. Bennie had two siblings as well, his sister, Carolyn Wilson and his brother, Roy Wilson.
