Funeral service for Mr. Fred Lovelady of West Monroe will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, August 25, 2012 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe. Reverend Newton “Bo” Horne, Reverend Johnny Hankins, Reverend Stuart Sherman and Bro. Ray Jones will be officiating. Interment to follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, West Monroe under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe. Benjamin Fred Lovelady, 100, was born December 24, 1911 and went to his heavenly home on August 22, 2012 at his daughter's home. He was a lifelong resident of West Monroe, LA. Throughout his life he was an avid hunter and fisherman and was retired from Olinkraft. Mr. Lovelady loved Southern Gospel and Bluegrass music. He was a charter member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church and he was a member of the West Monroe Senior Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dolphus and Nancy Hudson Lovelady, his wife, Musette Berry Lovelady, son, Bobby Lovelady, an infant son, five sisters, Orlene Berry, Sadie Frith, Blanche Barrett , Minnie Underwood and Cordie Mae Lovelady and two brothers, Hardy and Travis Lovelady. Mr. Lovelady is survived by two daughters, Beverly Morehead and husband Gerald, Evelyn Bush and the late John Bush, one son, Freddy Lovelady and one sister, Sybil Pace; grandchildren, Cheryl Bell, Pam Hankins, Scotty Morehead, Sheila Russell, Randy Bush, Rhonda Powell Clark, and Kim Graham; six great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and several step-great and great-great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the organization of your choice.
