Dr. Belford Earl Carver, 89, was born September 14, 1935 in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Herbert Leon Carver and Doris Marie LaBorde Carver and passed away on November 18, 2024 in Monroe, Louisiana.
Belford earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in education at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana and Doctor of Education at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. He later became a professor at Southeastern Louisiana University and retired as Professor Emeritus in Business Education. He was also an Army veteran where he served as a Warrant Officer at the Pentagon.
Belford was an active member for several years with First United Methodist Church in Hammond, Louisiana. He was a lifetime member of Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity and Kappa Delta Pi. His hobbies and interests included genealogy research, massage therapy, acting in local theater productions and several Hollywood movies.
Belford is preceded in death by his wife, Joan Elaine Carver, his parents and in-laws. He is survived by his sons, Kent Carver (Jamie) and Gary Carver (Sherry); grandchildren, Emily Amos (Luke), Bradley Carver (Jordan), Cameron Carver (Erin) and Kyle Carver; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Emily Faye Tucker (Carlton); brother-in-law, Larry Bernard (Donna); and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Belford will be held at a later date In Hammond, Louisiana.
