She is preceded in death by her father, Zack Hardison; mother, Tena Phillips Hardison; and sister, Florene Accardo.

Traxler; grandchildren, Tracy Gilbert-Upshaw, Roy Naron, III, Joanna Hunter, Lisa Ragsdale and husband Neil, and Sloan Salinas and husband Omar; and great-granddaughter, Savannah Gilbert.
She was a resident of Monroe since she was 8 years old and was known to most as either “Miss Becky”, “Granny”, or “Granny Becky.” She was known as a strong independent woman, raised 3 children as a single mom, and helped raise many more in her life. Becky was a cosmetologist and worked in several barbershops. She eventually opened a shop in her home and became self-employed. She loved her many customers and they loved her back. Over the years, Becky developed many very special relationships. She was known as a counselor, confidant, secret-keeper, and advisor. She was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church and loved her Sunday school class.
Becky was a member of the Lady’s Bowling Team for many years. She loved her flowers and working in her yard with her many hummingbirds and squirrels. She enjoyed traveling and was always looking for new adventures. Becky loved decorating for the holidays and sharing those creations with her friends and family.
Becky believed in the saying “It takes a village to raise a child” and thought of everyone in her life as part of that village. She loved deeply and was loved deeply. To Becky, blood did not make you family – it was LOVE. Anyone who knew her would say that for the last 13 ½ years her life revolved around her great-granddaughter, Savannah Gilbert.
