Funeral services for Barbara Whittington Edwards, 93, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe.  Reverend Frank Sellers will officiate.  Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Monroe under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes, West Monroe.  A visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday, March 28, 2025 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe.

Barbara was born on September 13, 1931 in Monroe, Louisiana and passed away on March 23, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.  Barbara graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in 1950 and attended Louisiana College.  She worked in the optical field for over 30 years.  Barbara was a longtime member of Bethel Assembly of God and was strong in her belief and faith and was a strong witness to God.  Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Edwards; daughter, Penny Edwards; parents, Edward Lindsey Whittington, Sr. and Mattie Lou Brantley Whittington; brothers, Edward Whittington, Jr., Maurice Aldon Whittington, James Michael Whittington; sisters, Elsie Whittington Ardoin, Pauline Whittington Gresham and Donna Wade Pilcher.

Barbara is survived by her four sons, Danny Edwards and wife Brenda, Mark Paul Edwards, Brett Edwards and wife Candie and Dale Edwards and wife Wanda; grandchildren, Justin Edwards, Corey Evan Flores, Rhiannon Edwards, Andrew Edwards and wife Tori, Kevin Edwards and wife Madeline, Melanie Edwards Bragagnini and husband Andrew, Brittany Brister and husband Blake, Michael Holloway, Kimberly Rutland and husband Lance and Darren Brady and wife Lesley; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and cherished family friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Edwards, Andrew Edwards, Andrew Bragagnini, Blake Brister, Gerald Gresham and Charles Lewis.  Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Alton Hardwick.
