A Celebration of life for Aubrey M. Simpkins Jr, 52 of Ruston, will be held Friday, October 1, 2021 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Aubrey was born on November 15, 1968, in West Monroe, Louisiana and passed away on September 27, 2021, in Ruston, Louisiana.

As a child Aubrey was in the woods from sunup to sundown catching frogs, snakes, squirrels, fishing, and bringing home his trophies often his mother’s trepidation, and his daddy’s chuckles.

Aubrey proudly enlisted in the Navy as a very young man and served as a Seabee at various Naval bases and lastly on the island of Bermuda. He spent many years working as motorman for Global Santa Fe Drilling Company. He eventually went on to earn a Baccalaureate in Wildlife Management Conservation and Masters in Molecular Biology. Finally, Aubrey finished his career working for Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office where he felt he finally found his calling helping and serving people.

He was preceded in death by his parents Aubrey M. Simpkins and Sandra Jean Brady Simpkins. Aubrey is survived by his wife, Abby Armstrong Simpkins; children, Eva Simpkins (Tevin), Tullie Simpkins, and Bain Simpkins; Sister, Sonja Simpkins Bamburg; and other family, Cody Armstrong (Brandie), Jason and Katie Albritton, Nikki Rodgers,  Johnny and Karen Armstrong, and Rudie and Barbara Rodgers, many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews, and a host of many other cherished family and friends.
