Funeral services for Aubrey “Dee” Givens will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 21, 2022 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes. Rev. Glenn Givens will officiate and interment will follow in the mausoleum at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at the funeral home.
Dee was born on July 3, 1957 in Winnsboro, Louisiana and passed away on December 16, 2022 in Monroe, Louisiana. He was a longtime pipeliner and dirt contractor. His last act of kindness was donating the gift of life to someone in need.
Dee was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Eileen Givens; mother, Elizabeth Givens; father and step-mother, M.C. Givens and Patricia Givens; brother, Michael C. Givens; and sisters, Deborah Givens Bass and Marylin Bryant.
Dee is survived by his children, Jeff Givens and wife Huong, and Jason Givens and wife Heather; grandchildren, Hannah Eileen Givens, Nicolas Wayne Givens, Braden Howard Givens, and Alyssa Dawn Griffin; brothers, Maury Scot Givens of Denim Springs, Daniel Todd Givens of Eros, Merle C. Givens of Chatham, Kevin A. Givens of Eros; sisters, Johnnye A. Pate of Monroe, Pamela Givens Nurmi of Augusta, Georgia, Katie Givens Copeland of Eros, Jennifer Givens Brown of Woodbine, Georgia; many nieces, nephews and other cherished family and friends.
