Mrs. Annie Lou Evans Pesnell Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Lou Evans Pesnell, 93, of Ruston, LA will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 10, 2006, at Longstraw Baptist Church, with Pastor Larry Emory, Rev. James Evans, Rev. Walter Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the Longstraw Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home Staff. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Annie Pesnell, homemaker, was born June 6, 1913, and went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 7:55 AM. She was a resident of Ruston Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ruston since February 26, 2001. During her lifetime, her enjoyment was being with her family members and being an active member of Longstraw Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for the youth. She was an avid gardener and seamstress. She married Leon Pesnell in 1930. Annie and Leon Pesnell were married for 69 years when the Lord called Leon to be with him. She is survived by her five children, Carolyn Pesson and husband, Richard, of Zwolle, LA; Patsy Bullock and husband, John, of Ruston, LA; Alice Smalling, and husband, Troy, of Ruston, LA; Leon Pesnell, Jr. and wife Kay, of Eudora, KS; Jim Pesnell and wife, Belinda, of Choudrant, LA; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Alice Roberson of Lafayette, LA, and a host of special nieces, nephews, and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons: Bubba Eldridge, John Pat Bullock, Bobby Eldridge, Derek Pesnell, Travis Pesnell, Sean Pesnell, and Anthony Smalling. Special thanks to the caring staff of Ruston Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and to Dr. Emile Barrow, cardiologist, and his staff for the many years of loving care and treatment to Annie Pesnell. The family sends a special tribute to Jeanean Ross, RN, Hiawatha Benton, Kim Jackson, and Iteal Kilson. They worked very closely with Annie Pesnell the last five years. Their love and care rendered to Annie surpassed expectations. Memorial gifts given in Annie Pesnell≠s name to the building fund of Longstraw Baptist Church are requested in lieu of flowers by the family.
