Anna Claire Campbell Seymour was born on December 6, 1938, in Shreveport, LA and passed away on April 21, 2022, in Lafayette, LA.
Anna Claire is survived by her husband of 64 years; Edward James Seymour, Jr.; daughters, Claire Campbell Seymour Ward and her fiancé, Page Culbertson, Louise Avonia Seymour North and her husband, Steven; son, Edward James Seymour, III and his partner, Caroline Blackman; grandchildren, Ryan Campbell Ward and his fiancée, Anabelle Reade, Sally Catherine Seymour, Anna Laurence North, Edward James Seymour, IV, Thaddeus Ross North, Elyse Choi Seymour; sister, Genevieve Campbell Wagner; and many nieces, nephews and numerous dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Genevieve Avonia Umbarger Campbell and Edward Rupert Campbell, Sr.; and brother, Edward. Rupert “Bo” Campbell, Jr.
Anna Claire was a member of the Monroe Garden Club, Monroe Junior League, Old Bridge Club Investment Club (past president), Daughters of the American Revolution, Northeast LA Arts Council, Twin City Art Foundation, Strauss Playhouse, Shreveport American Bank for Savings (board member) and charter member of Friends of the Monroe Civic Center Theater. She graduated from Byrd High School (1956) in Shreveport, LA and attended Randolph Macon Woman’s College and Louisiana State University where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.
Anna Claire loved golf and tennis and was a member of both Bayou DeSiard Country Club and the Lake Bruin Golf and Country Club. She was particularly delighted by her “hole-in-one” on number 8 at Dunes Golf Course in Sandestin, Florida. Bridge was also a passion and she enjoyed playing duplicate bridge with her friends. An accomplished chef, one of her proudest achievements was serving on the Cotton Country Collection Cookbook Committee. Her committee cooked and tasted every recipe included in the cookbook. Her husband, Ed, swore that she destroyed two cooktops during this trial period, an allegation she vehemently denied. She also enjoyed reading and needlepointing.
She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Monroe, Louisiana and Daughters of the King at Grace Church.
