Alva Byron Odom, Jr Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA Funeral service for Mr. Alva Byron Odom, Jr., age 87, of Simsboro will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA. Officiating the service will be Dr. Jason Cole and Rev. R.B. Moore. Interment will follow at Simsboro Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Mr. Odom was born August 24, 1925 and passed away July 28, 2013. Mr. Odom was a Veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the First Baptist Church of Simsboro. He is survived by his wife Alice Odom of Simsboro, LA; daughter: Phyllis Adams and husband Jim of Lewisville, TX; granddaughters: Kimmerly Cordes of Lewisville, TX and Ashley Sengson of Plano, TX; brothers: James Odom of Simsboro, LA; Milton Odom of Arcadia, LA; and Floyd Odom of Simsboro, LA; sisters: Dolores Williams of Simsboro, LA; Juanita Beck of Arcadia, LA; and Glenda Faye Reed of Simsboro, LA; stepsons; Steve Schimmel of Wichita, KS; Gene Schimmel of Lawrence, KS and Rod Schimmel of Rockwall, TX; and 5 great grandchildren.
