Mr. McManus was born February 2, 1936 in Rayville, LA and passed away August 20, 2024 at the Northeast LA Veteran’s Home in Monroe. He was retired from Flint Ink and was a member of the Pentecostals of the Twin Cities and a licensed minister of the United Pentecostal Church International. Mr. McManus was also a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country in Korea. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening. Mr. McManus loved gospel music.
Mr. McManus was preceded in death by his parents, David and Maloy McManus as well as his precious wife, Helen Williams McManus, his brother, David McManus, Jr. and sisters, Doris Shirley and Audrey Faye Brodnax.
Mr. McManus is survived by his son, Thelda “Mac” McManus; daughter, Cindy McManus; granddaughters, Allison Reyna, Ashlynne McManus, Kimberly McManus, Samantha McManus Hill, and Kaci O’Donnell; grandson, Jonathan Esswein; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Sophia, Henry, Riley, Kayden, Kylie Kay, Forrest, Stevie Jo, and Ansley. He is also survived by sisters, Jereldean Rhodes and Maydell “Jeep” Watson.
Pallbearers will be Ivan Reyna, Lucas Reyna, Kimberly McManus, Riley Thompson, Jonathan Esswein, and Tom Rhodes.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Louisiana Hospice, Allegiance Hospice, St. Joseph’s Continuing Care, Northeast Louisiana Veteran’s Home, as well as the physicians and staff at the Veteran’s Clinic for giving such excellent care to Mr. McManus.
