Aiko Fukada Wyatt departed from this earthly life on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the age of 82, born on June 21, 1935 to Metsusaboro and Take Kawata Fukada and was the great-granddaughter of a Samurai. She met her husband of 51 years, Philip while he was serving in the US Army and stationed in Japan. Aiko bravely moved to the United States in 1956, able to speak very little English, first living in Gilchrest Oregon, moving to Bend, Oregon and then to Ruston, Louisiana when Philip took a promotion with Willamette Industries. They were transferred back to Bend, Oregon but returned to Ruston after retirement to live close to their children.Aiko was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, GG and prayer warrior. She loved the Lord God and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a generous, kind person who loved to help those in need, sick or hurting. Aiko had an amazing green thumb and was known for her wonderful potato salad! She will be missed, but after a three year battle with dementia, we rejoice that she is now in Heaven with Jesus and the love of her life Philip.She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip, father and mother Metsusaboro and Take Fukada. She is survived by her children Michael, Rosemary (Cliff MacDaniels), Gloria (Randy Elliott) and Chris (Lori). Her brothers Tadao and Meiko and sister Kazuko. Grandchildren, Philip Elliott, Adam (Candice) MacDaniels, Matthew (Kaylin) MacDaniels, Anna Claire Wyatt and Holly Wyatt. Great Grandchildren, Zoe MacDaniels, Wyatt MacDaniels, Ellie MacDaniels and many nieces and nephews and their families.Private services were held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Pine Memorial Gardens, conducted by Dr. Chris Craig. Thank you to Dr. William Sanders, Premier Hospice and the Terrace staff for their support and care. A special thanks to her caregivers, who for the last three years gave her 24 hour a day care, companionship and love.
